Schmitt iridium spark plug.
Inspired by the former GDR Isolator spark plugs, Schmitt offers a 260 heat value iridium spark plug suitable for the classic GDR Simson and MZ vehicle models, which require a long plug thread because of the tuning cylinder head. The 260 heat value corresponds to the heat value of 8, as known from NGK spark plugs. The 260 Schmitt spark plug can therefore also be used in all vehicles that require the NGK heat value of 8 and are equipped with a long 14 plug thread.
Great advantage of an iridium spark plug is the very thin centre electrode. The ignition voltage is distributed over a small area only and thus produces a strong and concentrated spark, which leads to a clean combustion even under extreme conditions. In addition, coking of the electrode is reduced, which significantly increases its durability.
The durability of iridium spark plugs is many times higher compared to standard spark plugs. Fuel consumption is reduced and the combustion chamber remains free of combustion residues for longer.
